When buying, make sure that if the stem is rooted, put it directly in the water, if it does not have roots, be sure to cut the stem with a cutter and put it in the water. The water must be very low without chlorine and fluoride, be sure to expose the lacquer bamboo to indirect light.  Change the water in the pot every 2 weeks and mix 10ml of the special fertilizer in one liter of water with it. This fertilizer contains elements of N.P.K and organic matter, micronutrients along with the hormones and acids required by lacquer bamboo. This fertilizer has been used for several years in lacquer bamboo production greenhouses in Thailand and China.
